A lot happens here at the CSC every day. This blog however, will try to focus on those goings-on that highlight volunteer and staff efforts to prepare for our huge annual fundraising event, entitled "The Newman Gala". This, then, is our story.
If there were a hidden camera focused on the front door of the
CSC, the tape would show the door opening halfway and a little head poking out. The camera would catch this happening at least three or four types per morning, until, at long last, a hand would reach out and grab a packet from a box suspended against the east wall. The person would not reappear for the remainder of the day, only resuming his dubious activity the following morning.
Yes. I'm a mail addict.
Specifically, I am a Gala RSVP addict. Everyone knows how great it is to get snail mail--imagine if you got 7-10 letters a day, and all of them included checks!
Of course, these checks aren't to me. They're from generous donors willing to sponsor our Gala or from people buying raffle tickets or attendance tickets. As you can see by looking at the Gala website sponsorship page, we're rapidly moving toward reaching our goal.
Needless to say, it's exciting to see the overwelming support of the community. I can't wait for all of these names to turn into faces at the Gala. But for now, I'm just thankful for all the mail.
